Founded in 1977, Islamiyyat: The International Journal of Islamic Studies (ISSN 0126-5636) is a refereed international journal of Islamic studies; published biannually in June and December by UKM Press, and can be said to be the oldest academic journal dealing with the theme in Malaysia.

The international perspective is also reflected by the journal’s trilingual approach; it is published in Malay, English and Arabic languages. The published articles as well as comments, research reports, book reviews, conference papers and others are on Islamic studies as well as other fields written from the Islamic perspectives. In order to encourage academic brainstorming, we are soliciting your contributions throughout the year.

All submitted articles should report original, previously unpublished research results, experimental or theoretical, and will be peer-reviewed. Articles submitted to the journal should meet these criteria and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts should follow the style of the journal and are subject to both review and editing. Islamiyyat will only accept submissions sent through e-mail to this address: ezad@ukm.edu.my

Mike Millard membezakan sikap Nik Aziz Nik Mat, Menteri Besar Kelantan, berbanding dengan sikap Sayyid Qutub dan Wahhabis dengan menyatakan, “Aziz clearly was not possessed by an irrational hatred of outsiders or the ghastly seeking after death that characterized Qutb, the Wahhabis, and those who had come under their influence.”(Millard 2004: 113-114).
