The International Journal of Civil Engineering & Geo-Environment is a peer-reviewed international publication, valuable to those who are interested in the issues relevant to the civil engineering field. It is a multi-disciplinary effort involving professionals, practitioners and scientists. It will specifically provide a unifying basis bringing together engineers, architects, designers, project managers, and construction managers, among others. The International Journal of Civil Engineering & Geo-Environment, a peer-reviewed journal, aims to provide the most complete and reliable source of information on recent developments in civil engineering. Papers which describe theoretical and research related to the broad spectrum of civil engineering with similar emphasis on all topics are most welcome. The International Journal of Civil Engineering & Geo-Environment welcomes articles and research contributions on following areas:

  • Structures & Materials Engineering
  • Hydraulics and Hydrology Engineering
  • Soil Mechanics / Geotechnical Engineering
  • Construction Engineering & Project Management
  • Highway and Transportation Engineering
  • Environmental Studies & Wastewater Engineering
The journal accepts original research papers, reviews, short communications and discussion. Short communications should not exceed 4-6 printed pages and should be a concise and complete description of an investigation.

GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

Publication Policies
Articles submitted (literature, definitive articles on methodology and procedures, quantitative and qualitative approaches to theory and empirical articles reporting original research) will be reviewed and accepted on the understanding that they have not been published elsewhere.

Submission Information
Authors should send an electronic version of their article by e-mail to the Editor-In-Chief at ijceg@ump.edu.my. Pages should be numbered consecutively.

Submission of Papers
Submission of an article is understood to imply that the article is original and unpublished and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. Once accepted for publication, the publisher assumes that copyright has been transferred over by the authors. All manuscript will be judged by at least three (3) referees to ensure material originality, accuracy and relevance.

Manuscript Preparation

Technical Requirements for Paper
The length of articles should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words or approximately 5-15 printed pages. The articles should be written in MSWord and in proper English.

Types of Fonts
All texts, drawing, graph must be written using Times New Roman, 10 point.

Spacing
Single

Language
Follow the spelling of the Oxford English Dictionary.

Paper Title
The title of the paper should be concise and indicate clearly the nature of the contribution.14 point, left justified as shown below.

Abstract
An abstract not exceeding 250 words outlining the purpose, scope and conclusions of the paper, 9 point, fully justified. It should be a single paragraph.

Keywords
Maximum of five (5) selected keywords should be provided, 9 point, left justified.

Style
Manuscripts should consist of the following sections: Introduction, Methods/ Theory, Results and Discussions and Conclusions.

Body Text
All paragraph must be differentiate by a single spacing, justified.

Symbols & Units
Papers containing a substantial number of equations must have a list of symbols with units. Express all quantities in SI units, with other units in parenthesis if desired. Use Italics for symbols where appropriate.

Tables
Table should be incorporated in the text, 10 point and numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. Each table should have a descriptive title / caption and should be written above the table, 10 point, table line 0.5 point.

Illustrations
Illustrations (figures, photos and graphs) should be incorporated in the text and put in box with line width 0.5 point. Illustrations should be numbers consecutively throughout the paper by Arabic numerals (Figure 1, Figure 1 - 5). Caption should be written below the figures, 10 point. Make sure lettering on drawings is proportional to the figure, professionally quality, large enough and suitable for appropriate reduction for publication if necessary. Figures should be submitted with high contrast in black and white unless colour is required. Do not use a grey background in line drawings. Figures should be about twice the desired size for printing and suitable for reproduction.

References
References should appear in a separate reference sheet at the end of manuscript, 10 point. References should be cited in the text as follows: “Wright and Paquette (1987) found…” or “(Roberts et al.1991)”. References should be listed in alphabetical order. In the list of references, the title of periodicals should be given in full, while for books should state the title, place of publication, name of publisher and indication of edition. Unpublished material or personal communications may be mentioned in text, but should not be included in the reference list.
