The Malaysian Journal of Veterinary Research (MJVR) is the official journal of the Department of Veterinary Services, Malaysia. The MJVR aims to share advances in veterinary science by publishing and promoting high quality refereed scientific and clinical articles. The MJVR publishes original articles, case reports, short communications, clinical updates, diagnostic challenges, reviews and veterinary history articles. All articles are peer reviewed. English is the official language of the journal. Only manuscripts with substantial scientific merit will be reviewed for originality, significance, relevance and quality.

Preparation of research articles

Use 12-point font size, font type Times New Roman, double-space text and begin the manuscript with title page. Line numbers on each page of text are also helpful for reviewers. Authors should aim to present ideas and information clearly and concisely.
  • Title page should include title, author(s) and affiliation(s). The title should be specific and informative.
  • Abstract should be a clear and concise one-paragraph summary (less than 200 words) of the paper. Highlight objectives, significant results and major conclusion without the use of reference. The corresponding author’s email address must be clearly stated.
  • Keywords (5–10 words separated by commas) are intended for literature retrieval.
  • Text should have the following headings: Introduction, Materials and Method, Results and Discussion. Authors should use SI units and appropriate symbols. Keep footnotes to the minimum. Research on animals should include a statement that “approval for Animal Care and Use Control has been obtained (policy reference … and approval number …) and complied with”.
  • References should be cited in the text as follows:
All references cited in the text must be listed in alphabetical order and 10-point font size.
